Beach Living 904 (“we,” “us”) is a local guide to events and things to do around Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. What we collect
When you join our newsletter
We collect your email address so we can send you Your Guide to The Beaches, our weekly newsletter. Our newsletter is delivered by Beehiiv, which stores your address on our behalf. Like most newsletter services, it may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which helps us understand what readers find useful.
When you submit an event
We collect the event details you provide (name, date, time, venue, description, links) and your name, email address and, if you choose, your phone number. Event details may be published on our website, newsletter and social media if we approve the listing. Your contact details are never published; we use them only to ask about or follow up on your listing. Submissions are emailed to us and a copy is stored privately on our web host.
When you email us
We receive whatever you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message, and use it to reply.
Technical information
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to operate and secure the site. To block spam, our forms keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address together with the times of recent submissions, used only to limit repeated submissions.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or analytics trackers. To avoid showing you the newsletter pop-up over and over, your browser keeps a small note (in its “local storage”) of whether you closed it or signed up, and when. That note stays on your device, isn’t sent to us, and you can clear it anytime by clearing your browser’s site data. Some event photos are loaded from Unsplash, an image service, so your browser connects to their servers to display them. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.
How we use information
- To send the newsletter you signed up for.
- To review, publish and follow up on event submissions.
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above (Beehiiv and Hostinger), which process it on our behalf, or if required by law.
How long we keep it
Newsletter subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Event submissions are kept as long as needed to review and publish the event and for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime using the link at the bottom of every email.
- See, correct or delete the information we have about you by emailing hello@beachliving904.com.
Children
Our site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Event listings may link to organizers’ websites and ticketing pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don’t control.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
